BRAINSTORMING
I was not part of the brainstorming process because I was absent, but the 3 members of my group came up with 3 different designs and then voted on which one they thought was the best. One of the ideas was to make an inclined plane and use a pulley to pull the cap of when it was connected to a gear train. The second idea was to use a pulley with a wheel and axle to make the pulley pull of the cap. They did not have a pulley so they decided to use the only idea without a pulley as the final project.

BUILDING PROCESS
During our building process we were able to make a compound machine that could unscrew a bottle. We had many problems trying to get the screw to turn with the gears. So we ended up screwing in a gear so that when we turned the gears it moved the screw. Then we had to make the structure so that it could hold the bottle in place and keep it tight so that the bottle cap could screw off.

CONCLUSION QUESTIONS
1. I think that the gears were the easiest because all you really have to do is find out the gear ratio by counting up the teeth
2. I think that the screw was the hardest because you need to know all the dimensions and you need to find all the threads and pitch through a lot of calculations
3. We estimated 2 lbs of force as the input and 12 lbs of force as the output, we estimated this because it takes a lot of effort to turn but there us a great resistense force with trying to unscrew the bottle.
4. I think that we should have had more torque, and also the bottle was really hard to get in the correct place so we should have put the bottle in an easier place.
