AUTOMOBLOX IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
PROJECT INTRODUCTION
For this project, we had to use reverse engineering, which is where you either break down the product and analyze it or innovate on the product, me and my partner Ryan innovated (or enhanced) the automoblox truck by adding a spoiler to the back, a step up to the car, a muffler and door handles to make it look like a real car.
SUMMARY
There are 3 stages to reverse engineering, visual analysis, functional analysis and structural analysis.
Visual analysis- analyzing which parts and pieces need to be enhanced or improved
Functional analysis- after finding the parts that need to be improved, analyze them and figure out its purpose towards the product
Structural analysis- view the entire product and see how it works

DEFINE A PROBLEM

I showed the truck innovation to two people, my mom and my brother and this is what they said.
Mom- I like the use of color (silver, gold, and black ) in your truck, I also like how you designed it like a race car, it will be very visually appealing for kids of younger ages that like race cars.
Brother- that looks awesome, it looks exactly like a race car.

PRESENT THE SOLUTION
I think that me and my partner Ryan worked really well together, we split the innovations of the product, (Ryan did the spoiler and step-ups and I did the door handles and the muffler) using teamwork, we successfully innovated the product and created an excellent final product that was very visually appealing. This definitely tested our inventor skills though because we were not given any instruction sheets that gave us all of the correct dimensions. We had to create them based on the dimensions of the car so that they looked like they were part of the car and had a purpose.
Factors that must be considered when you are enhancing your design are, will it have a purpose, will it improve the design or make it look better, will it fit the constraints, will it fit onto the product? It is important to sketch your ideas so that you know where you are going to innovate the product and see if it makes the product better, it also helps because it gives you a list of innovations to choose from. it is important to document your ideas because someone could use your idea and build off of it and make it better.
